Radar Detector Testing
Unfortunately, there is no one detector best at everything. So Speed Measurement Laboratories rated the detectors tested into the following categories.
However Radar Roy feels that it should be noted that the Escort 8500 and the Beltronics 985 are the only detectors that are listed in all the following categories. And one test that was not performed was the false alert filtering test. In that test, the Escort 8500 was the clear leader.
