Cones were placed on the test course at the following distances: 2.5 miles, 2 miles, 1.5 miles, 1 mile. The 2.5 mile cone was located over a hill and not in line of sight of the radar guns. Test vehicles containing the detectors were in the stationary position. Instant on radar emissions, X, K, Ka (33.8 Ghz) were triggered for two seconds. Only certified police officers operated the radar guns and police officers in the test vehicles reported the performance of the detectors. N means the detector did not detect radar. Y means that the detector did detect radar and reported the band correctly. Beginning at the 1.5 mile cone, results were reported in Y or N with the signal of the received radar as reported by the detector. Example, 4/9 means that the detector showed a signal strength of 4 of a possible 9 signal strength indicators. All detectors were placed in the "highway" filter setting. F means Full alert all other detectors were turned off.
