With the platform mount the unit can be moved easily and not kept on the dash or even where the unit can be seen when your vehicle is parked

I live rurally and so do my kids and driving long distances in open spaces, except for those nasty highway cops. Radar det. has paid for itself. I think I might get another instead of transferring from vehicle to vehicle
