POP Radar Detector Testing Results

POP Radar TestMPH Industries developed POP as a method to transmit a quick burst of radar at either 67 or 16 milliseconds so it cannot be detected by most radar detectors.

When an officer is using POP mode the officer must activate this feature on his MPH radar gun and the reading he/she would receive is considered as an estimation of a suspected violator and the results cannot be used to issue a citation.

Because of this POP mode is seldom, if ever used by an officer in the street and one of the only states to have an open contract with MPH for their POP radar guns in Nevada.

Because of this POP mode radar has earned a nickname for itself on several of the radar detector fourms as POP being POOP!

However as these POP radar guns are available to police, we did test the effectiveness of a number of radar detectors to detect POP.

During this test each of the detectors were placed into highway mode with POP mode enabled.
