2004 Active Laser Jamming Test
|
Active Laser Jamming TestDuring the Radar Detector Rumble, Radar Roy also tested the Blinder M-40 and Shifter ZR3 that were installed on his 2004 Ford F-250 Harley Davidson pickup truck. As the Ford F-250 is a large profile truck, it very difficult to make it invisible to a laser gun. At 500 feet, a laser beam is approximately 18 inches wide when it strikes the front of your car or truck. The preferred location for a police officer to aim at your vehicle is either the front license plate, or the headlamps. The M-40 contains four jammer heads and is designed to be installed in large profile vehicles like Radar Roy's F-250. The M-20 which contains two jammer heads, and the ZR3, is designed for smaller passenger cars and trucks. ![]() With the Blinder, Radar Roy installed one jammer head under each headlamp and two in the center (yellow arrows). With the ZR3, Radar Roy installed each of the two jammer heads inside the grill, 13" from each headlamp (red arrows)
