Great detector for drivers

Clear Alert, Easy programming, Easy To Mount, Good Sensitivity, Neat Features or Extras, Versatile

Sometimes too quiet

This is a great product for the price and is very easy to use. I have 40% tint on my windshield all over but it doesn't seem to effect the distance of detection at all, which is great. I had a Cobra XRS9430 prior to this so this detector kind of worried me at first b/c it was so quiet. Well, when it finds something, YOU WILL KNOW IT!

good starter

Pros:

Fast processor, Good long range, High Quality, Instant on, Pop alert

Cons:

Expensive, False repair signals, Over heating maybe, Reclaibration

Best Uses:

Highway, Hills and curves, Instant on, Pop detection

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

wish it would go sometimes the the strongest single when on multip alert . speical with false alerts of k-band , when there's a x-band radar coming right at you and you never see it coming .

Comments about Beltronics BEL RX65 Radar Detector:

I use to buy only Cincinnati microwave (Escort/Passport) detectors. From day one, they were the best. Heck, Mike Valentine use to be there too! But the new passports are longer than I would like, and it's real easy to hit the volume control dial on the left side accidentially, turning the unit down when your mounting it.

The Passport does not have KU band. Niether detector has the Radar detector detector immunity.

But the BEL RX65 is now made by cincinnati microwave, it is a small compact little guy, and you can't just hit the volume switch to accidentally turn it down. The only down side is when you get it, you have to turn on the KU, POP3,and SWS.

It has the auto mute featue I just love. (which can be turned off. When a radar is detected, the first beep is as loud as you have the volume adjusted. Then it goes much lower during the threat.

It has the same smart cord the passport does.

It has voice mode which is kinda neat, and if you want, you can turn on the radar direction detection mode, like the valentine has, showing what type of signal is coming from where at what strenght.

And I've gone through one KU signal in Oregon so far. All the other detectors don't have this yet.

I feel most protected with this guy. If I ever drove in an illegal state though, I'd probably have to pick up the BEL STI with the Spectre Immune feature. Bad side is this detector doesn't have KU.
