After getting a red light ticket, I decided to get pro active. I do not favor running red lights by no means but pulling up on the white line gets me a $262 ticket ticks me off. Anyway this product has been very awesome in sniffing out all the little camera traps here with plenty of warning and a display to adjust my speed right on the money. Great support in the updating data base and I use it in conjunction with a escort redline detector, the passport 9500IX does not give me warning far enough in advanced plus the data base isn't as accurate as cheetah so I went with the redline and Cheetah. Worth evry penny so far.

I bought this item for the Red Light and Speed Camera alerts. When I took a look at the instructions, I was amazed at all of the features. It does a great job of alerting to RLCs in a way that is easy to understand. I assume it does the same for speed cameras, but we don't have those here in FL yet.

What really amazed me about this product was the fact that it has 65 unique alerts. When I first read about this, I really didn't give it a second thought. When I took a look at what the alerts are for, I was thrilled.

This thing can actually alert you to Airborne VASCAR speed trap locations. Granted none are in the Trinity database yet, But I gave them a list of all of the coordinates for these locations this morning. Soon, this Will alert to airborne speed trap locations in FL.

Pros:
- It has a small footprint and doesn't take much dash space.
- It warns for red light cameras, speed cameras, timed cameras, dangerous intersections, air enforced areas, areas that are likely to have mobile camera vans.
- It also features a compass, atomic clock, and a GPS speedometer that is more accurate than the one built into the car.
- Open Source Trinity Database. It gets updates from users of the product and anyone else who reports in. Items added are professionally verified to reduce false alarms.
- The magnetic mount is really easy to use, and just a really neat design. You cannot windshield mount it, but it's so small you probably won't need too.

Cons:
- Signing up for the updates is a bit of a hassle, but once you get past that it's pretty easy.
- Powered by 5 volt USB power. This is good when updating on the PC, but you have to use a cigarette adapter to use it in the car. This makes hard wiring more difficult, since you can't just wire it right into the 12 volt system.

This is a great product! A nice addition to your radar detector, since most radar detectors don't do well with speed cameras. Also good for keeping you alert to red light cams, so you can give yourself ample time to stop.

This little package is great. It's small and easy to move between vehicles. The alerts are always timely. You set the alert timing. I have received very few false alerts- all of them occurring when driving under roads that have red light camera enforcement intersections in close proximity and on parallel roads that are very close to photo enforcement areas. Users of the C50 can advise Cheetah of the falsing areas through their website, and new software versions from the Trinity database are available regularly for subscribers. You will want the database subscription to stay current on new photo locations.

I have had my C50 for about 2 weeks, so I cannot say that I have fully tested its capabilities. But so far, in the limited time that I have owned it, it has correctly alerted to red light cameras (both directional, and red light enforced intersections) and to dangerous intersections. My only dislike (and it is minor) is that the database updates are a bit cumbersome. Otherwise, I'd say it is a great tool!

Bought the Cheetah C-50 last month, after owning a Cheetah C-100. Don't get me wrong, the C-100 never goofed up, but the speaker was "tinny" sounding, and the mount vibrated too much for me.

So now I have the NEW C-50, 65 voice commands, Much Better speaker, I can't say enough about this unit.
Not to mention it is 1/2 the price of the c-100.
