good mount but within a year it fails

the weak point in this mount is the plastic welded to the back of the suction cup. in time, due to vibration and weight of the radar detector, this will fail and snap off...Read complete review

the weak point in this mount is the plastic welded to the back of the suction cup. in time, due to vibration and weight of the radar detector, this will fail and snap off. on the garman which has a similar design, they use metal stock welded to the back of the suction cup and is far more durable than this mount.

          as someone else mentioned previously, the mount failed at the base of the suction cup, just after a year of use. it's nicely adjustable and works perfectly with my Passport, but I don't want to be buying one of these every 12 months.
