Radar Roy's Tests
Radar Roy obtained one of the earliest Bel Sti units available for a grueling, 4500 mile cross country trip in a 2006 Freightliner.
During this trip the STi went head to head with the RX65, the Escort 8500 X50 and the Valentine 1 radar detectors.
During this trip, the STi consistently alerted as much as a few seconds earlier to Ka alerts then any of the other three detectors.
K alerts were equal to the other three units tested.
Radar Roy even encountered two X band alerts in Ohio and Indiana with the STi giving plenty of advanced warning.
One of the most important tests was performed in Ohio, during his road trip. This was the ability of the STi to beat out the Spectre III, the Spectre MK3 and VG2. The STi was completely immune to all these RDD devices.
After returning from this trip, Roy also did more comprehensive comparison tests of the STi.
