The Equipment
Lead driver J.A. Sanchez and sidekick Minesh Patel, made it clear to Radar Roy that they were only interested in the best equipment available and were not interested in second best.
As they would experience virtually every type of speed enforcement available to police today, Radar Roy chose the Beltronics RX65 for radar detection, the Blinder M-20 for Laser jamming, along with the VEIL laser stealth coating.
Beltronics RX65
The Bel RX65 is hands down the best radar detector Radar Roy he has ever tested.
During the 2005 Radar Detector shoot out in El Paso, the Bel RX65 had the longest range on Ka band and the ability to sniff out POP radar.
The RX65 was mounted on the dashboard, the preferred mounting location by Roy, so it would provide maximum detection on both radar and laser.
Blinder M-40 Xtreme
As portions of the Cannonball race was heads through a few states where laser jammers are illegal, it was decided to install a the Blinder laser jamming system as it is less likely than other models to produce a jamming code.
Another consideration was that police departments in the Southeastern USA were known to use the Laser Atlanta gun, and the Blinder is the only jammer made today that can effectively jam this gun.
The Blinder M-40 Xtreme was installed on the front, two of the heads were installed in the top grill area, and one in the lower air scoop. One head was then installed on the rear license plate.

VEIL Stealth Coating
To provide the drivers with a better edge, the VEIL stealth coating was applied to the cars headlamps, turn signals and the front chrome grill area.
Normally applications of VEIL is only recommended for the front license plate and the headlamps. But because of the large chrome grill on the Dodge Magnum and because of the importance making this car as stealthy as possible, the chrome grill received one coat of VEIL
