Concealed Radar Detectors
Radar Roy recommends four concealable detectors, the Escort SR7, the Bel RX75, the Beltronics 975R and the Whistler 3500.
Because it's built-in to your dash, a remote detector is less noticeable to law enforcement and is highly resistant to theft.
However, because it's permanently mounted, the detector can't be moved from vehicle to vehicle.
Escort SR7
The Escort SR7 is rated the #1 concealed radar detector by Speed Measurement Laboratories and by Radar Roy.
One important advantage on the SR7 is that the front laser sensors mount to either the front license plate or in the grill area, which enables the best detection of all police laser signals.
There are two different versions of the SR7:
The SR7 Pro is a radar and laser detector
The SR7 Plus is a radar detector and active laser jammer.
Bel RX75
The Bel RX75 is built on the same platform as the Escort SR7. (Escort and Beltronics are also the same company)
The only major difference between the SR7 and the RX75 is that the Plus version of the RX75 comes equipped with an external speaker that once connected, give voice alerts.

Beltronics 975R
The Beltronics 975R is another good choice for a concealed radar detector. The drawbacks on this unit over the SR7 and RX65 is that the filtering is not as good, and their laser sensors are designed to be mounted on the windshield. By mounting these laser sensors so high, it is doubtful that this unit would detect laser if your shot, because of its limited beam width.
Whistler 3500
The Whistler 3500 is a good performer for the budget minded. This unit performed very well at the Speed Measurement Laboratories testing with range equaling that of the SR7. However, what you will be sacrificing is the filtering abilities with this unit.

The Whistler Fuzion is also a good performer for the budget minded. This unit is designed to be pillar mounted. |
