Spectre Radar Detector Detector (RDD) Testing Results

Radar detectors are illegal in all vehicles in Virginia, Washington DC, and on Military Bases. Radar Detectors are also illegal in all commercial vehicles weighing over 10,000 pounds.

To enforce these laws police use a device called the Spectre which is able to detect the presence of radar detectors.

A common tactic police also use is to install these Spectre RDD units at toll booths and weigh stations to detect the presence of radar detectors in a commercial vehicle.

Because of this our Spectre test was performed using a Spectre IV RDD at a distance of 20 feet or less from the vehicle with a radar detector turned on.
