I have an old Bel 995 which has been awesome in saving my butt many times over the years. I thought it was dead because it wouldn't turn on & was very happy to find that it only needed a new power cord. It is a great 2nd vehicle unit in conjunction with the new Max 2 detector I got from RR for my primary ride.
No complaints.
PLUGGED IT IN WORKS GREAT
SEEMS SOME IMPROVEMENTS WERE ADDED SINCE HAVING THE ORGINIAL . LIKE THE CHOICE OF COLORS
RECEIVED ORDER TWO DAYS AFTER PLACED WITH ROY.
love the cord compared to a all coiled one.
With the detector in dark mode, the smart cord plug indicates an alert without lighting up the interior of my truck.
the product speaks for it's self
Only took me about 30 min to install out of the box. Mount the detector high, dim the display to help stealth your detector. This is easy to see right with the gages, helps keep your eyes on the road. Plus it just looks cool.
Great for "stealth mode" and no coily wires going into the cigarette lighter.
I like the product and it's performance, and ease of installation, but the mid-line splice created by the ScotchLock connector compromises the 12V power supply wire. Because I have installed the unit on my motorcycle, and it is subject to the elements (ie; rain) I direct-wired it into the system.
Smart cord can be used and still be hard wired.
Looks good, have a extra 12v socket now.
