False Alert
Radar Detector Testing
The chief complaint with radar detector owners are false alerts. This year SML performed an extensive test on a two mile section of I-10 in downtown El Paso Texas that is saturated with X and K band false alerts that come from shopping centers, gas stations and alarm systems.
Ten common false alert locations were identified prior to the test.

A series of four tests were performed with each detector in different settings that included Highway, City, City No X, and City No X No K.
