High-Efficiency Battery Design
SOLO S3 uses only a fraction of the power used by conventional corded detectors. Using 2 standard (AA) batteries (included), the SOLO S3 provides months of normal driving protection. A new low-battery warning circuit keeps constant watch on the condition of the batteries, and provides you with both audible and visual alerts before they need to be replaced. A new AutoPower feature (programmable) automatically turns the SOLO S3 off to conserve battery life.
Long-Range Radar Protection
The redesigned SOLO S3 provides long-range warning on all radar bands including conventional and "instant-on" X-band, K-band, and Superwide Ka-band. Patented Digital Signal Processing (DSP) provides the longest warning possible without constant false alarms.
Ultra-Performance Laser Protection
The SOLO S3 uses multiple low-noise laser sensors to provide long-range warning and the widest field of view against laser encounters.
Programmable Features
SOLO S3 packs 9-user programmable features, allowing you to customize it for your specific driving style. Your preferred settings are stored in memory, even when you replace SOLO S3's batteries. Or, simply use SOLO S3's factory settings, allowing you to just turn it on and go.

Safety Radar Signals

I have 2 cars and in my "faster" car I have a valentine1. Great radar detector. I bought the solo for my other car and it works good. It picks up a few more false alarms than the V1 but not too bad. I compared them side by side and the valentine1 picks up a little quicker. But the radar works great and I use rechargeable batteries in it.

I had purchased a Solo S3 unit back in May. I have had this unit for 4 weeks now and I'm having a problem with it. In this area law enforcement uses K Band speed signs to slow traffic. I know that these units are using the K Band frequency because of another detector I was using. I'm currently running this unit in expert mode. When I approach the source within 1/8 of a mile it tells me that I now have two sources K Band and one source Ka Band. I believe that the units receiver's front end is getting over saturated and it cannot discriminate which signal is which. The same occurrence happened when I was in a store parking lot using the K Band door operators the Ka Band lit up with the K Band alert. It is going back...

We have wanted a cordless detector as a old plug in stopped working, it had to be replaced. Welcome solo,eliminates false signals with ease, picks up signals at considerable distance, portability among our cars with easy placement., battery life appears to be decent. It was used on a 350 mile trip out of the box, doing a fine job.
