3 weeks in and I have settled on a configuration leveraging learned mutes and quite ride. Very peaceful. The detection range in the dry Arizona open Highways can be many miles. Well enough time to hear instant on tagging cars far ahead. Unidens open API allows 3rd party mapping applications to interface directly with the R8 over its bluetooth link. Very nice not being locked into the factory app. Highly Recommend.

The uniden R8 is the gold standard for radar detection. The R4 has similar range but it misses on the arrows.

Delivery was ok, though they were out of stock for close to a week.

The big draw of radar busters is no sales tax.

works great, didnt want to have to use a phone to work features, great all in one platform, mountign hardware works great, doesnt crack or dry out. If you travel in radar/laser infested terrain, u need one of these... money well spent. and radar busters is great to work with, been. buying from them for over 10 years. no issues.
