5 of 5 The reviews do not lie! February 1, 2023

The R4 is a solid radar detector with a price that is just right! It does the job you want and expect it to.
No regrets!

5 of 5 Uniden R4 December 16, 2022

So far it performs well.  I have a beltronics STIr mounted in vehicle and bought R4 to swap into other cars. When both were on the R4 detector went off well ahead of the Beltronics one. It detected one speed trap miles ahead over a couple hills. False alarms from K band passing cars were similar. The GPS works perfectly and warned of traffic cameras even when pulled down and sitting on the console.

4 of 5 New Purchase Uniden R4 vs R3 December 16, 2022
Reviewer: Mark Buday from Easton, PA United States
Had to purchase a new Radar unit by Uniden from RadarBusters after my R3 stopped any audible sound (I believe due to bad speaker going?).  Anyway made my choice of the newer R4 for the price.  However, the big negative for me was the audible alert sound is NOT as high as the R3.  Like a 20% drop in the sound.  I always depend on the sound to alert me as the unit is too far away from me driving from the windshield.  I can NEVER read the color bar from where I sit so having this newer version - R4, have a drop in audible sound does NOT make me happy.
I the positive, the unit seems to be noticeably quiter (in terms of false alerts).  I still drive on the same highways and roads daily, so I feel my experiences and input are valid with the R4.
I don't know the Uniden R4 unit like one of the radar geeks and only use the basics to avoid tickets. If I had the disposable money to spend, I would have gone with the Uniden R7.
Time will tell if I am happy with the R4 over the R3 unit.

5 of 5 Uniden R4 Rocks ! June 14, 2022
Reviewer: JohnnyWalker from Falconer, NY United States
after using the R4 for a few weeks, I can say it is a great detector. It does all exceptionally on picking up KA signals and filters K signals well. Some vehicles safety systems alert (I think) occasionally, but is a very quiet detector. Range is exceptional, even off axis and far away. I have yet to get a laser signal. I wish I had not waited to order it RadarBusters shipping was fast and flawlwss.

5 of 5 Great service February 28, 2022
Reviewer: Hugo M. from San Francisco, CA United States
The R4 is a great upgrade from the R3. It already saved me today when a car behind me got pulled over by a CHP as the R4 gave me ample warning
