I am very happy with my purchase. Shipped quickly and works phenomenal. Picks up most 5.0 s well before they see you. Sometimes I can't believe the range. Not many falses, but I have everything turned on and all the bands set to wide. Check the forums for settings etc. Glad I bought the R4.

I bought the R4 because my R3 was not behaving and I wanted auto lockouts. Uniden has a major problem with over speed warnings that cannot be turned off with speed cameras on. I may be returning it as this is very annoying. Other detectors do not do this.

Shipped and sold defective unit

Purchased a Uniden R4 from Radar Busters as after reading on their website they have a satisfaction guarantee that you won't be stuck with a radar that is defective.This is not the case. I have had the radar 3 days and could not hear anything coming out of the radar. I contacted Radar Busters on this issue and it was determined they sent me a unit with a speaker failure. Instead of making this right and sending a new unit to replace the defective one they want me to go through Uniden. A brand new unit! They will not take reasonability for sending a defective unit. I even offered to upgrade to the R7 so they would at least offer to send a working unit. No, I had to go through Uniden which has yet to contact me. Any other vendor would have taken responsibility for sending a damaged radar and replaced unit immediately. Not pass the buck to the manufacture. I have been waiting to hear from Uniden for 2 weeks. The unit is sitting in a box in my living room. $400 plus wasted. Buyer Beware!

Matthew, we have attempted communication with you several times via phone and have not received a return phone call and have also been working to resolve this issue to your satisfaction.
We have spoken to Uniden several times and we were arranging to get a replacement detector sent to you, but we have been informed by Uniden that they have attempted to contact you six times and have not gotten a response. They are going to attempt to contact you again.
We apologize that you received a unit from them that was defective but this is entirely out of our control and unfortunately given the sales volume of these units and the production numbers that rarely one does have an issue.
In the meantime, despite your dissatisfaction, we have sent you a prepaid return label to return the unit to us for a full refund, since arranging a replacement has been difficult at best,
