Beating Police Lidar Traffic Enforcement
test
Police laser (technically lidar) is a popular and most difficult to detect form of traffic enforcement used throughout the world.
But, did you know that it's generally difficult for a radar detector alone to protect you from laser speeding tickets?

The reason this is true, is when an officer shoots you with his or her police laser gun, the lidar's narrow light beam is typically focused on either your license plate or on one of your headlights.
And the width of this light beam is only 18” wide at 500 feet and depending upon how far you are away, if you are in targeting range, police lidar general requires fewer than a second or two to obtain your speed. This is especially true when you are targeted from behind, often from an overhead position like an overpass or an onramp.
Even so, today lidar operators can target from great distances (greater than 1500 feet), and in those instances a good lidar detector can really help.
But even the best radar detectors, may not be foolproof at detecting lidar.
Because of this you will need the added protection of an effective laser jammer, the Laser Veil stealth coating, or a combination of the two.
It is estimated that police lidar accounts for at least 25% of all speeding tickets issued.
In some states, such as Hawaii, police laser is used exclusively.
Adaptiv TPX produces a high performance laser jammer that is very affordable for both vehicles and motorcycles, alike.
The new Escort ZR6 Laser Shifter is one of the best performing laser jamming system on the market and has the distinct advantage of integrating into Escort's windshield-mount radar detectors.
The TMG Alpha-17 is popular with do-it-yourselfers.
For those that can't afford a laser jammer, the Veil G6 stealth coating represents a very good and inexpensive solution for those seeking protection from police lidar traffic enforcement.
Veil can also be used in combination with a laser jammer to further increase its effectiveness--like the Anti-Laser Priority, Escort ZR6, TMG Alpha-17, or K40 jammers which did occasionally experience "punch-throughs" in which speed readings can still be obtained by the lidar operator.
Before offering lidar jammers for sale, RadarBusters' always test them for their effectiveness vs the latest police lidar speed guns available.
